Here\, you’ll receive a free lunch (courtesy of 121 Community Church) and T shirt (courtesy of the T Shirt Guys). Then we’ll have prize drawings for free gear from REI. \nThis event fills up every year. Register today. \nIf you registered to volunteer\, you can pick up supplies at 225 W. Worth St. between Tuesday\, Sept. 23 at 8:00 am and Friday\, Sept. 26 at 3:00 pm. Supplies include one litter grabber per volunteer (while they last)\, two trash bags and a pair of nitrile gloves.

Additionally\, they’ve added PourAway containers that allow customers to dispose of liquid before approaching some TSA checkpoints\, making it easier to travel with a reusable water bottle. These measures add up! Last year the airport diverted more than 6\,600 tons of waste from local landfills! \nPresented by the Environmental Affairs team from DFW Airport\, this informative lecture will explain sustainability practices implemented\, net zero status\, environmental initiatives and improvements throughout the airport. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS FULL. \nDid you know? There are an estimated 20\,000 species of bees\, and approximately 3\,600 bee species native to the United States and Canada alone. These pollinators include solitary bees\, bumble bees and honey bees. Although birds\, bats\, and other creatures are also pollinators\, insects\, like bees\, are the animals that do the bulk of the pollination that affects our daily lives. Wild bees are generally different than domesticated honey bees and live underground in nests.  An expert speaker will teach attendees how to protect and attract these hardworking pollinators who help our gardens and ecosystems thrive. \nRegistration opens one month in advance.
